The third signal box mural in Pottstown's community art series is complete. The mural, painted by artist Kayla Ackelson, is another amazing addition to the streets in the downtown area. The eye-catching work includes a hand-painted front page of local newspaper, The Pottstown Mercury, and highlights some of the area's local organizations, including ArtFusion, Pottsgrove Manor, Steel River Playhouse and more. The signal box featuring Kayla's work can be found on the corner of Charlotte and Beach Street.
This local arts project is a collaborative effort between the Borough of Pottstown, ArtsFusion and PARRC, and was made possible by private funding. So far, public feedback on the murals has been resoundingly positive, and demonstrates the importance of accessible artwork within the community. Be sure to check out all the completed signal boxes and be on the watch for the next mural to make its appearance downtown!
