Schuylkill Highlands "Mini" Big Sit

Do you enjoy bird watching and nature observation? If so, participate in the Schuylkill Highlands "Mini" Big Sit!

To help improve stream quality and make the Schuylkill Highlands area a more bird-friendly region, neighbors in 10 townships partnered with Audubon's Plants for Birds to plant over 500 native flowers and shrubs in Berks and Chester county. To document the results of this effort, there will be a "Mini" Big Sit, where people can bird watch from home, parks, or another location. this event will be held on Saturday, September 11 from 7 am-10 am, where people will watch and listen for birds and document sightings into a platform for recording and viewing bird data (eBird). The data collected will help scientists and conservationists around the world make informed decisions that support birds and their ecosystems.

Typically, Big Sit events occur over a day or two but this event will only be 3 hours and people are welcome to record sightings for all or part of the time. This event is very flexible and free to participate in! Sign up for free at pa.audubon.org/MiniSit and join the fun with your neighbors in the Schuylkill Highlands.
