Riverfront Park is located at 140 College Dr in Pottstown, next to Montgomery County Community College West Campus. Also next to the park are offices of the Schuylkill River Heritage Area.
The 41.5-acre park's main feature is the trail, which is part of the Schuylkill River Trail, running along the Schuylkill River. The shelter and benches at the trailhead were installed in 2006 with support from the Schuylkill River Heritage Area and the Pottstown Rotary Club. The boat dock at Riverfront Park is currently undergoing improvements but provides access to the river for canoes and kayaks. The 41-acre park has 2 pavilions, an amphitheater, woodland and open space, picnic tables, and benches. Riverfront Park is also filled with informational signs about nature including birds, woodlands, watersheds, and more. The signs are a perfect way to learn about nature and ecosystems.
The park often holds events, such as festivals, 5ks, biking and kayaking events, etc. Schuylkill River Greenways also has a free bike share Bike Pottstown/Bike Schuylkill which is located at the Schuylkill River Greenways NHA offices that have bikes available during regular office hours M-F 8-3:30.
There is a variety of activities to do at Riverfront Park, go on a walk, run, or bike ride. Or go kayaking and canoeing. If you're not feeling that, enjoy a nice picnic and take in all the nature!
