Washington-West Street Park is a half-acre park located in the center of Pottstown at 433 West Street. It’s the only park within a five block radius that serves this area of Pottstown. Parking is available on Washington and West Streets. Prior to the playground improvement project, existing amenities in the park included playground equipment for 5 to 12 year-olds, a swing set, several picnic tables, benches and a small lawn area. Washington-West Park was in need of redevelopment to address site grading, provide updated equipment and to improve access. The previous playground equipment was over a decade old and had deteriorated due to use, sun exposure and weather.
In July 2022, the Borough replaced the worn-out play equipment with new play equipment. The project was funded by a $25,000 grant from the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation with matching funds from the Borough of Pottstown. Additional work to be completed in the park include ADA access improvements, landscaping and parking.
