Just as the summer slips away and fall creeps in, one more signal box mural has been completed as the warm weather starts to dwindle. The new mural is the fourteenth to be completed in the on-going Pottstown Public Arts project.
The new mural was painted by artist Ruth Drake; it's her first signal box mural for the Borough and it's located at the corner of Rosedale Drive and High Street, in front of the McDonald’s at 1428 E. High Street in Pottstown. The project was fully funded by a private donor.
The signal box mural shows a stylized landscape with a blue sky, bright yellow sun and birds perched on telephone wires. Hills in dark green also fill the middle, while a row of arched bridges adds structure to the scene. At the base, yellow flowers bring a pop of color and balance. While this officially wraps up our signal box mural season, keep an eye out for more beautiful and exciting artwork that may pop up around town!
