These improvements will upgrade energy efficiency and create a safer environment for township employees and visitors. Pottstown Borough was awarded $350,000 to renovate the Ricketts Community Center. This renovation will revitalize the community center, providing

better facilities for local events, programs, and gatherings. Lower Pottsgrove Township secured $34,750 for a barn demolition project. The project involves removing two deteriorated structures from two open space areas and will improve safety. Upper Pottsgrove Township received two grants: $103,635 on behalf of Goodwill Ambulance Company to upgrade its ambulances with new equipment, and $80,914 for the purchase of a new police vehicle. This will strengthen emergency response and law enforcement resources. Washington Township was granted $200,000 to develop a new playground at Washington Township Park. This project will provide families and children with a safe recreational space.

Douglass Township was awarded $232,925 from DCED’s Multimodal Transportation Fund for the County Line Road Bridge Replacement project. This funding will help replace an aging bridge, improving safety and transportation for users.

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) awarded two grants that will enhance outdoor recreational facilities in the region. North Coventry Township received $119,000 for the Kenilworth Park Playground Project. This funding will support the installation of new playground equipment and upgrades at the park. East Coventry Township was granted $330,000 for the Towpath Park Boat Ramp and Kayak Launch Project, which will improve access to the Schuylkill River, promoting outdoor recreation and tourism.

PARRC would like to extend its thanks to DCED and DCNR for their continued support. By securing these grants, PARRC and its municipalities can continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to building a safer and healthier community, but also a community with an abundance of recreational opportunities.
