New Signal Box Mural Celebrates Classic Car Culture

Pottstown's newest mural is bringing a vibrancy to the corner of High and Beech Streets. Created by local artist Nicole McGonigal, it transforms an ordinary traffic signal box into a colorful work of art. Featuring beautifully painted vintage vehicles, including a classic Volkswagen Bus, Volkswagen Beetle, and a 1950s-era Chevrolet. The design honors the timeless appeal of old-school automobiles represents Pottstown's cruising culture.

The artwork is set against a lively backdrop of bold blues, oranges, pinks, greens, and yellows that immediately catches the eye. Playful geometric patterns, gears, and road-inspired elements tie the design together. The word "Classic" stretches across one side of the box, reinforcing the mural's celebration of vintage vehicles. This mural serves as a colorful reminder of that history while adding another welcoming piece of public art to one of Pottstown's busiest intersections.

The High and Beech Streets mural is one of several signal box murals created throughout Pottstown as part of an ongoing public art program. Funded by a private donor, the program continues to transform everyday infrastructure into meaningful works of art that residents can enjoy year-round. The next time you're traveling through High and Beech Streets, be sure to take a closer look!
