Recent upgrades in both West and Lower Pottsgrove Townships are enhancing public parks through the addition of interpretive signage
designed to support education, accessibility, and wayfinding.
In West Pottsgrove Township at Murgia Park, new interpretive signs have been installed along the walking trail. These signs provide information on local wildlife, aquatic ecosystems, the role of trees and native bird species, and more. The goal is to connect visitors to the environment through education. This project was funded through a $10,000 contribution from a private donor and a $10,000 grant from the Schuylkill Highlands Minigrant Program, which supported both the design and installation of six interpretive signs, as well as the purchase and placement of birdhouses throughout the park.

In Lower Pottsgrove Township, improvements at Ringing Rocks Park include a new entrance sign. As part of a broader series of upgrades that include a newly paved driveway and parking area, along with an ADA-accessible picnic table beside the pond, a new entrance sign has been installed to improve wayfinding and the appearance of the park. The upgrades were made possible through $33,400 in combined grant funding from the Pottstown Regional Community Foundation (formerly Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation) and the Pottstown Metropolitan Regional Planning Committee (PMRPC).
The new signs not only improve the visitor experience but also greater awareness and appreciation of the natural resources within local parks.
