On Saturday, September 29th, Lower Pottsgrove Township hosted its Empower Your Park event at Ringing Rocks Park. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of our local parks, trails, and open spaces while keeping them clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. Not only did the event meet expectations, it exceeded them!
Instead of the 15–18 volunteers anticipated, nearly 40 people came out to lend a hand. Among them were Representative Joe Ciresi and members of his office, ten teachers and administrators from the Pottsgrove School District, 20 middle and high school students, and of course residents!
With so many helping hands, an impressive amount was accomplished. Teams cleared debris and litter from all three trails, refreshed and spray-painted trail markers (with one Upper Pottsgrove resident taking on most of that task!), spread screed along the access path across from the parking lot, and even cut and cleared a fallen tree blocking the Blue Trail.
A huge thank-you goes out to everyone who came to support and pitch in. Your hard work made a lasting impact. And a special thanks to Representative Joe Ciresi and his team for joining the effort!
